This platform uses a weighted rating calculation, not a simple average — treat this number as a rough estimate, not an exact target.
Networx's rating isn’t a simple average — treat this as a directional estimate. See how Networx's rating actually works or Networx review management.
What’s actually documented about a Networx contractor score
Networx is considerably smaller than platforms like Trustpilot or Google, and its public documentation reflects that: there is no published formula, weighting scheme, or explanation of how individual star ratings roll up into the score shown on a contractor’s profile. That’s a meaningful gap compared to larger platforms that at least explain the mechanics even when the exact algorithm is proprietary.
What Networx’s Terms of Use does state is that Site Content — which includes homeowner reviews — "is not verified or reviewed in any way before it appears on the Site." In other words, a review can go live on a contractor’s profile without Networx checking it first. Networx separately reserves the right to "remove any Site Content from the Networx Offerings at any time and for any reason, in Networx’s sole discretion," which gives the platform broad latitude but doesn’t commit it to any specific review or removal process.
- No published formula — Networx has not disclosed whether the star rating on a profile is a simple average, a weighted score, or something else.
- Unscreened by default — per Networx’s Terms of Use, Site Content including reviews "is not verified or reviewed in any way before it appears on the Site."
- Removal is fully discretionary — Networx can remove Site Content "at any time and for any reason, in Networx’s sole discretion," with no published, self-serve appeals process for either side.
- Prohibited content is defined narrowly — the Terms of Use bar content that is "false or misleading," content "designed only to damage a contractor’s reputation," and content that is "threatening, demands payment" (i.e., using a review as leverage).
