What Zillow Will Actually Remove From Your Agent Profile — and What It Won’t

A genuine, if harsh, review from a real client generally stays up. Here’s what does qualify for removal, and how Zillow’s flagging process actually works.

Yes, in specific cases — an agent can flag a review directly from their profile to have it re-moderated, and Zillow will remove it if the review is found to violate Zillow’s Review Guidelines or Good Neighbor Policy. Zillow’s own guidance states reviews are very rarely removed once approved, and are typically removed for policy violations rather than because they’re negative. Individual reviews can’t be unilaterally deleted by the agent outside that flagging process — the only way to remove all reviews at once is to deactivate the Zillow profile entirely, which also removes the agent’s presence from the platform.

What qualifies for removal

  • The review doesn’t reflect a genuine buyer or seller relationship with the agent
  • The reviewer was not a client and doesn’t meet Zillow’s eligibility requirements for who can review
  • The review violates Zillow’s Good Neighbor Policy or Review Guidelines (inappropriate content, off-topic content, or other terms-of-use violations)
  • The review lacks the required level of detail Zillow’s guidelines call for, such as no reference to a specific transaction
  • The review is part of fraudulent or solicited-for-compensation review activity

Frequently asked questions

From your Zillow agent profile, you can flag a specific review to have it re-moderated. Zillow’s moderation team re-evaluates it against the Review Guidelines and removes it if it’s found to violate them.

No — agents can’t unilaterally delete an individual review the way a reviewer can delete their own. An agent’s options are to flag it for re-moderation, respond to it publicly, or, as a last resort, deactivate the entire Zillow profile, which removes all reviews and the agent’s presence from Zillow at once.

Zillow’s own guidance is that reviews are very rarely removed once they’ve already passed moderation once, and negativity alone isn’t grounds for removal. If a flag doesn’t succeed, publicly responding to the review is the next-best option for shaping how it reads to future prospects.
