What Hellopeter Will Actually Remove — and What It Won’t
A genuine negative review from a real customer stays up, even if it’s harsh. Here’s what does qualify for removal, and how the process actually works.
Yes, in specific cases — Hellopeter removes reviews that breach its content guidelines: reviews containing false information, spam or scam content, or content that’s defamatory. Businesses can’t delete reviews themselves under any circumstances; removal only happens after a review is reported and Hellopeter’s team finds it in violation. A real customer’s genuine but unflattering account of their experience is not grounds for removal.
What qualifies for removal
- Part or all of the information in the review is false
- The review is spam or a scam
- The review is defamatory in nature
- The review was posted by someone who wasn’t a bona fide customer of the business
- The review is a duplicate of one the same reviewer already posted about the same issue
Frequently asked questions
Open the full review, select the "Report" option beneath the review title, and complete the form explaining why you’re reporting it along with your contact details. Anyone can report a review — reviewers, readers, or the business itself.
A Hellopeter representative reviews the report and may contact the original reviewer to verify the review’s accuracy. If it’s found to breach Hellopeter’s content guidelines, it’s removed and no longer counts toward the business’s metrics or TrustIndex.
Hellopeter’s stated process is that a reviewer whose review is challenged may be asked to provide an affidavit confirming the review is accurate, as a way of substantiating a factual dispute.
